Program Development & Operational Support
Theranostics and Radioligand Therapy (RLT) are expanding treatment options for patients with select cancers and creating new opportunities for hospitals to grow advanced nuclear medicine services.
HeartCare Imaging partners with hospitals and physicians to evaluate, develop, and support compliant, sustainable theranostics programs, drawing on decades of experience in nuclear medicine operations, staffing, accreditation, and regulatory oversight.
What Are Theranostics?
Theranostics combine molecular imaging and targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy using the same biological target to diagnose and treat disease.
This approach allows clinicians to:
- Identify appropriate patients through diagnostic imaging
- Deliver targeted radiation therapy
- Monitor treatment response using established nuclear medicine techniques
Current clinical applications include prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, with additional indications emerging.

Radioligand Therapy (RLT)
Radioligand Therapy is a form of theranostics in which a radioactive isotope is bound to a targeting molecule that selectively delivers radiation to cancer cells.
Launching an RLT program requires coordination across:
- Nuclear medicine
- Oncology
- Radiation safety
- Pharmacy and nursing
- Hospital administration
HeartCare Imaging helps institutions navigate these requirements with a structured, experienced approach.
